Shouting into the cloud-spread sky, an upraised arm in a peo- ple-packed bleacher, and a facial testimonium of feeling, all are forms of opinionated stands. To develop a stand de- mands a reevaluation of values, attitudes and goals that some find confusing. Others come out of this examination and embark down paths of individ- uality rare in the conforming atmosphere of high school. But taking a stand sometimes re- quires the courage to suffer for it from society. This speaking out is the spice in the never ending expansion-life. f' f l. Lynda Wyrick 2. Grasping the tools of their institutional education, and the spirit of their own per- sonal one, they set their goal and start upwards. Some, with an awe-inspiring contemplative air, while others take it with aplomb, swinging into the as- cension. But either way, itis the climbing that counts in the nev- er ending expansion-life.
