'Coach' epi Completing his ninth year as varsity football coach, named 1970 Teacher of the Year, and selected as a teacher advisor for the Student-Faculty Coor- dinating Committee is Mr. J.C. Gotcher, honored by Salute 1971. Fondly called Coach by the varsity football team, he acted as their head coach, he also supervised the activities of the baseball team in the spring. During basketball season Mr. Gotcher assisted as scorekeeper for all the home games. In addition to his coaching activities, Mr. Gotcher instructs government classes, ca course in modern problems and spon- sors the senior class. Along with the extra hours spent after school on the coaching field, Mr. Gotcher dedicates his evenings to the combining of students and faculty ideas for school improvements by being a member of the co-ordinating committee. Recognized by the faculty as an out- standing instructor, Mr. Gotcher was voted Teacher of the Year. Because of his unmatched support for all aspects of Trooper activity, Salute 1971 is proudly dedicated to Mr. Joel C.
