Troopers look back at heritage IN THE BEGINNING, Salute 1962 pic- tured 650 students existing as seventh, eighth, and ninth graders. This small body of students provided the embryo for the fully-accredited four-year high school that lives a mere ten years later. Salute 1963 portrayed the creation of increased traditions, and a growing school with a fresh, spirited outlook was showing its muscles in competition. Maturing to the realization of the total Eastwood educational experience, students seen in Salute 1964 expanded their own horizons. A triumph in the eyes of Eastwood students was the year it became a full four-year high school. Salute 1965 was dedicated to the first graduating class. The theme of Salute 1966 was one that was first in the thoughts of Eastwood stu- dents, Trooper heritage. The Troopers were proving their tradition valid: deter- mination, courage, and individualism. Finding their place in our world, Troopers in Salute 1967 secured their spot in the sun by being active and concerned. If something needed to be done, Troopers were doing it. Involvement with the world around them was the essence of Salute 1968's picture. The personal initiative to ac- complish became traditional. Salute 1969 found the Troopers praising their liberties and freedoms. ln the midst of activity in athletics, academics, and service, time was still available for ap- preciating America and the dream. Students viewed through Salute 1970 found winning a tradition. Trophy cases had to be added to contain the many awards, honoring the noble heritage came naturally. Then came Salute 1971 with a por- trait of Eastwood High School and the Troopers ten years after the beginning. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, TROOPERS, WE'VE COME A LONG, LONG WAY. STUDENT LIFE 23
