The year 1968 will long be remembered as a significant step in the educational program in the Eastwood School District. The Eastwood Board of Education re- mains aware that their prime purpose is to provide a rich educational expe- rience for all boys and girls in the dis- trict. With this purpose in mind, a proposal for a building program was presented to the electorate. Again, the citizens of Eastwood have demon- strated their respect for improved edu- cation and intellectual discipline. A great number of people responded to the educational needs in the district and worked unselfishly so that our youth could attend school in modern, well-equipped buildings. The board of education commends the Eastwood citizens who recognize that the only realistic solution to the many social and physical problems of today is a sound educational system. Today, we are faced with new problems that force a challenge to all citizens in Eastwood and in the state of Ohio. While we must continue to meet the educational and cultural needs of our youth, a growing concern is recognized in regard to the inequalities of oppor- tunities for the youth of this state. The board of education, the admin- istration, and faculty offer our sincer- est congratulations to the citizens of Eastwood for your forward educational attitude and your desire to provide the best for your children. We pledge to serve this community to the best of our ability and encourage all citizens to become more active participants in their schools.
