Five days a week, nine months a year the high school stu- dent must face a day of classroom study, extracurricular ac- tivitiesg and of course, the constant companion of all stu - dents, homework. For the average Eastwood student, the day begins a- round 7:3O a.m. A hasty good-bye is said to the family as students rush out to catch the bus. The bus is crowded with friends who laugh and joke, giving lit- tle thought to the work the day will bring. Once at school he will usually congre- gate with other friends or prepare neglected homework from the evening be - fore. At 8:05 the bell sounds its warning and everyone rushes to their first class. After attendance and lunch count is taken the real work of the day begins as books are opened and the teacher begins the lecture of the day. The lunch hour provides a refreshing change-of-pace. The closed lunch room is observed at Eastwood but during the three lunch periods well over three -fourths of the student body buy the hot lunches served in the cafeteria. The remainder of the lunch period is spent in the auditorium Where each week a different movie is shown. The movies deal with any- thing from Shakespearean plays and biog- raphies of such greats as Mme. Curie to the mad antics of Red Skelton, jerry Lewis, and Danny Kaye. The programs are supervised by members of the faculty. 7
