CLASS HISTORY On a bright September morning in 1945 fifteen eager children jouneyed to Webster Township School to start their adventure in education Of the fifteen that started only nine of us have stayed together and are graduating this spring We are Margaret Wight Grace Luidhardt Robert Heckman Robert Schivelbein Wayne Smearsoll Joyce Frobose Arloa Rohloff Caroline Spoerl and Larry Sanders We were safely guided through the first six grades by Miss Velma Reitzel Mrs Pauline Henschen and Mrs Edith Philo During this time we lost some of the original fifteen and gained Charlotte Fahle Janice Moore Joe Shepherd Nathan Cassabon Marquietta Wensel and Robert Davidson Reaching the seventh lap of our adventure we entered new activities with much enthusiasm sponsored by Mr Clarence Duffner In the eighth grade we were sponsored by Mr Willis Smethers After the tricks and Jokes of our freshman initiation were over we tried to settle down to study through a busy year again under Mr Smether sponsorship We spent a very busy year when we were sophomores We joined the seniors in sponsoring a fish fry We had a new sponsor Mr Joe Becker In our Junior year we presented the play ' Rest Assured we also spon sored a bake sale scrap drive and a dance The highlight of the year was our Junior Senior Prom Our theme was a wishing well surrounded by a beautiful garden Mr Becker was our sponsor again this year having lost Alice Schivelbem and Charlotte Fahle One new member Almeda Overton was gained Our senior year was one of the busiest years of our high school days We planned the f1'6Shmal'1 initiation sponsored a bake sale a paper drive a chicken supper and the annual Guernsey banquet We presented a class play entitled Me and My Shadow This our last year in high school was finished by the class taking a trip on the B 8: O Railroad to Washington D C where we spent two days then toured on to spend three days in New York We saw many different buildings and sights on the various guided tours that were conducted Our chaperones were Mr and Mrs Joe Becker Having attained the goal of our high school education we are now ready to step into our various walks of life Compliments of CITIZEN'S SAVINGS BANK THE HOBART BOWLUS COMPANY Member of the Federal Reserve System , ' . y 's ' ' I ll - Nearing the finish line, we became seniors with a total of seventeen, . ,, . your neighborhood store since 1872 Member of the Federal Deposit Ins.
