twenty one PROPHECY NE day as I was gettrng ready to go Arraplanrn I thought of the trrnes twenty vears ago when Terraplan rng was the vogue way back rn my hrgh school days A great currosrty concernrng the whereabouts and statrons of my former classmates took hold of me and when I entered the plane I sooke of rt to Bernre Greselman the prlot He suggested that we fly over the country touch at all the larger crtres and try to renew old contacts The plane we had selected was of Baumbach desrgn We followed a defrnrte plan of actron and made the followrng drscoverres wh ch we publrsh for the members of the Class or 936 We left Syracuse and made our frrst stop at Albany to see one of the most successful graduates of Eastwood Fred Brce the governor We had breakfast wrth hrm and hrs two rrght hand men Bob DeLaney and Brll Baxter Through Fred we found out that Art Cullrngs was commander rn chref of the Bussran Army After leavrng our frrends we flew on to New York Crty where we found Chuck Allen and Alex Budzlrek dorng a th rv no busrness sellrng krppered herrrng and usrng therr hand talk to the best advantage In the next block we came across Freys Dress Shop where Norm desrgned dresses ror Bunny Stott and Mrmr Eastburn to model Washrngton D C was our next stop and there we found Art Eyre runnrng for presr dent of the A B C Bowlrng Congress Marron Orcutt Nellre Strader Dorothy Bartlett Dorothy Whalen and Marre Bortz composed the womens charnpron bowlrng team rn class Z In Palm Beach Frorrda we went for a swrm where Hal Hayduke was dorng an admrrable Job at rescurng farr young mard ens Because the exercrse gave us an apoe trte we went to Ed Prlger s Bestaurant We notrced Fratty Fratrannr orderrng and eat rng the marorrty of the foods lrsted on the menu We n xt vrsrted New Orleans Lou srana where we wrtnessed the teams of two fam ous coaches Herb Broadwell and Howard Gary rn an excrtrng game of softball The frnal outcome was a tre whrch showed the abrlrty of both coaches We sought a l1ttle forergn atmosphere and flew to Sonora Mexrco where we went to a bull frght However there was much con fusron because Iack Ladd Ethel Baker and Douglas Hersler were there mrnus therr hats ln Hollywood we attended the premrere of Daughter Used to Come Home Frt As a Frddle But Now She Comes Home Trght As a Drum co starrrng Elsre Bedwell and Wrnton Green Dorrs Hone and Alfred C I were the featured tango dancers rn the prc ture and Esther Dydxk was the Blond lnterest Carson Crty Nevada was our next stop There we encountered Harry Menkrns for mer Eastwood Hrgh School polrce chref who was sherrff Oscar Strandell was the mayor In Salt Lake Crty Utah we saw Ed Murphy floatrng on hrs back rn the Great Salt Lake smokrng a brg black crgar and talkrng to Bob McNeely another ardent floater the zoo at Yellowstone Natronal Park held specral rnterests for us for who was there but lrmmy Merkleham the keeper of the monkeys Devy Dvorak was the doctor rn the fam ous health resort at D nver Colorado Mar 1' clarr Nrchols assrsted hrm rrr the capacrty of head nurse At St Lours Mrssourr rn the Washrngton Unrversrty we came across Helen Schm tt teachrng rn the Englrsh department and Irll Whrstler rmpartrng her chemrcal knowledge to the students Brta Sharkey trarned the grrls rn gymnastrcs After drnrng wrth Brll Leonard the suc cessful drum mayor we went to one of Chr cagos most popular nrght clubs Ye Olde Crder Mrll owned by none other than Edward Bertrand There we found Herb LaVere and hrs Harmony Hackers fea turrng Dorotny Hotalrng as vocalrst and the Rhythm Burners an octette consrstrng of Ned Falcone Robert Harrrs Art Welch Bay Ney Of specral note were the ball room dancers Mary Aaurlrnro and Leo McManmon The petrte Brta Schnerder was mrstress of ceremonres In Detrort we found Wrllram Qurnn sellrng cars manufactured by the Alrbrandr Motor Corporatron Hrs strong sellrng pornt was the fact that lohn had so constructed the vehrcle that rt would run on onron Jurce rnstead of gas In Cleveland Ohro we went to see Ann Pelletrer who had the best and most elrte beauty shop rn town 'Whrle we were there Mrldred Krng Ruth Mrller and Peggy Traynor who were housewrves came rn to have therr harr set They gave us word that Mary Brown and Irene Dukat were prrvate secretarres for the owners of two large corporatrons ln a large department store rn Buffalo we saw Dorrs Carn who rnformed us wrthout exaggeratrng however that Mary Krngsley was the buyer for the cosmetrcs department and that Brta Donahue was the general over seer From these varrous sources we learned that Arlene Brchard lane Robert and Irene Smrth had all Jorned the ranks of the hus band frnders We attended the Symphony Concert whrle n Phrladelphra Mrchael lulran Evelyn Homewood Estella OConnell were mem hers We had covered a lot of terrrtory but see ng all of our former classmates made up for all our expense of trme and money and there has been a real thrrll of drscovery rn
