The Lady Blazers started the sea- son under first-year coach Sharon Sweet, with no returning lettermen, and little varsity experience. The girls finished with a record of 2-16. Their two wins came against a tough Angola team and arch-rival DeKalb. The Lady Blazers were led in both games by tough serving. In the Angola game Kathy Ray set the pace by serving fifteen straight points. In the DeKalb game, Kandy Kaser showed why she was voted MVP of the team by powerful serv- ing and fantastic defensive play. In the ACAC Tourney the Lady Blazers played one of the most exciting games of the tourney. The girls played Southern Wells and showed great improvement from the first time they played them.
