ADIVIINISTRATIGN Mr. G. Cole Mfg, F, Futch Mrs. D. Gatson Mr. R. Nolan Mr. B. Hamilton SUPERINTENDENTHS MESSAGE A STATEMENT FROM TI-IE PARISH SUPERINTENDENT Picture the progress made by the consolidation of the three formerly all-Negro schools from which Eastside grew. The modern school plant you pupils attend and you teachers teach in is a far cry from the three plants you formerly had, namely Union Parish High School, Marion Industrial and Lanes Chapel. The qualifications of your teachers have vastly improved and your transportation is one of the best fotmd anywhere. The attitude and participation of your pupils in all community activities have improved immensely in recent years. I want to thank the teachers, students, parents and the community as a whole for your contribution to education in Union Parish which has not been easy to come by. To all who have a part in your yearbook, your school, your community and your parish, let's strive to make the next decade the best in your school history. Sincerely, J. G. Elliott 5

COUNSELGRS Earnestine Clark 1967-68 Mamie Green 1968-69 Secretary Nettie Cage fg7N' COUNSELOITS MESSAGE Guidance services are regarded as organized activities designed to give systematic aid to pupils in solving their problems and in making adjustments to various situations which they must meet. The program is based on the prem- ise that the goals and objectives of education and guidance are commensurable, as both are concerned with adjustment to environment and to development of social competence. Emphasis is placed on educational experiences and on guid- ance services which present situations conducive to self- direction, self-discipline, and self-understanding.
