UNDERCLASSMEN X I Y l-ox, Q 1i 3.g 2 3 0 CLASS OF 1954 As we watch our big sisters graduate, we realize that soon our time will come and we will enter the welcomed profession which we are working three hard years to achieve. just emerging from our Intermediate Slump, we recall the wonderful memories of our Intermediate as well as our Junior year-- parties, dances, and small get-togethers. Last year we witnessed the completion of our new nurses' home. This year we watched the erection and opening of a new wing to the hospital of which we will some day be graduates. Raising funds for our own yearbook-The Ligature-has taken up much of our spare time. Through hard work, careful planning, and foresight, we have attained the bulk of the necessary funds. A white uniform and pin lie ahead for us in just a year. As we don these symbols of humanity, they will reflect our pride in our chosen profession. CLASS OFFICERS President ----- CORINNE DOMINE Vice-President - Lois GARIS Secretary - JANET ROONEY T1'eas'm'er JOYCE HOFSCHILD Pa ge Twenty-eiglzt CLASS OF 1955 A day had come that we'll always remember-August 28, 1952. VVe said good-bye to our parents and faced our futures. On hand to help us turn our steps along the long road were our instructors and our housemothers. Studies began almost at once. YVe met Mr. Bones and toiled in the labs. Eventually came the big day. Floor duty had seemed so far away when we Hrst came to Easton Hospital, but we soon learned to fit ourselves into the strange routine that confronted us. Time flew by as if on wings it seemed. Capping came and we chose as our officers the girls who will lead us for the next two years. They seemed best suited to fill the shoes of the many officers who have gone before us. Already our thoughts are turning to the day we, too, will shed our blue and white and will have reached the goal that is high in the heart of each and every one of us. Mfe bid farewell to the Class of 1953 and hope they, too, will be as successful as the many classes who have gone before them. Gosh, we IIIUSI have all been Inspired by fiends, I cannot recall-but- I think the idea was Irene's! Down the hall the Brave bandages crossed As if to tell the world We could not be bossed. The night was black-the white Of the bandages glearned thru the Dark as we sehemed and we dreamed -Iust to hear Booth's bark Then what to my wondering Eyes did I see, But the clock on my desk-10:30. I dove into bed and hoped I looked as if sleeping pretty The men on men's Surg., Had me tired and weary, But my nerves were a-tingle And of sleep I was leary. As the minutes ticked by Excitement rose to a fever- I felt like jumping about like a Retriever- And then to our minds came a Hash And it read-Booth-God Bless her, with her tired tread. But our nerves were all shattered- We could no longer take it The spasms of laughter o'er took us It seerned the whole place was A'shakin'! Girls, take them down! Boomed the voice down the hall- Xvhat did she want us to do? VVhy, get on the ball! My door flew open and there she Stood,-Right then I wished I was Wearing a hood. Boy, she scared me to death IfVith her cross examination. What did she think I was A stool pigeon? I'll call Miss Bickel, she warned And call Miss Bickel she did. To cut the bandages We stormed to the hall-cause After all-we're not dumb kids. Page Seventy-Iwo We were all so scared-our minds Worked fast-cause we didn't Want ten years before the l'11aSt In two minutes flat the bandages XV ere under our beds. IVe leaped into bed and sleep Kept Yelling in our heads. I opened my door-and there Biekel Stood! Her eyes looked as if they Were gleaming. Line up in the hall We huddled In a ball, Give me the bandages. To take them Is forbidden. VVe controlled our giggles well, But in our throats they Started to swell. There Kovach stood, I thought I'd die, Her expression with dracula Sure could vie. This thing was becoming More hilarious by the minute.
