Page14 EASTONIAN 1932 EASTONlAN STAFF The Eastonian is only a very young child. Many city high schools have been publishing year- books for five, six, ten or more years. But every- thing must have a beginning, and this is the East- onian's. It was decided at the beginning of the '31-'32 school year that the Student Body should have an Annual. We realized that it wouldn't be simple, but cooperation was promised-and cooperation has made the '32 Eastonian possible. There is no regular course in journalism in Easton Hi, so the Staff was struggling in the da1'k so far as knowing anything about managing a publi- cation was concerned. The mighty American Dollar was the big prob- lem. We could not hope to pay for our book with CHARLES DUNBAR JOE SIMS .........,...,,.. ALFRED GRINDLE ..., THOMAS ROACHE . MR. HAWTHORNE ERNEST TATE .....,,,.... ANTONETTE Rusrc .,,.... HARRIET' MITCHELL .... SOPHIA KOLLAR ..... MARGARET BELL ...,., advertising and circulation only, so a series of successful school plays and dances were given by the different classes and organizations to help finance the book. We economized further by doing as much of our own printing as possible on the school Ditto machine. This makes the Eastonian unique in that, as far as the staff knows, it is the first time that an annual has been partially published on a Ditto machine. Gradually the finished product has grown out of all the mysteries surrounding publishing. An amateur publication, we admit, but a stepping stone to that perfection we all strive for. We appreciate the cooperation which We have received from the Student Body. The enthusiasm of our adviser has been an inspiration to us. We have laid a founda- tion for future work.
