The class of 1962, however, has a distinc- tion no other class will be able to claim. In addition to an enviable scholastic and athletic record, you are members of the first class to graduate from the new high school. This honor, I can assure you, will become increasingly important as the years pass and your class reunions signify that both you and the school are growing older. As your principal, I would add something more. Your cooperation and the maturity you have demonstrated throughout the year have helped to make the school's open- ing a smooth and pleasant one. In addition, you have justi- fied the current observation that today's secondary school students are more than ever interested in scholarship for its own sake. Since you are the first of a continuing wave of graduates to represent Easton Area High School in the years to come, the school asks one thing more of you.
