elleet Alert Students The importance of writing and composition are stressed in English classes. The major emphasis at Eastmoor is on learning. A number of our students have distinguished themselves through national h o n o r s examinations, through achievement at universities, and through securing college schol- arships. A good student at East- moor is held in esteem. jim Carroll and Lynn Balthaser look at a picture of Washington's inaugura- tion, which is included in their studies in American history. Miss Lincoln looks on as jackie Taylor and Chuck Becker, mem- bers of her fourth year Latin class, do an exercise at the board. The advanced classroom system in the Columbus Public School System was first introduced at Eastmoor. An example of this accelerated program is Miss Be- risford's eleventh grade honors English class.

An experiment in physics has the attention of Bill Cohen, Vir- ginia Schott, and Alan Ross. The Windows at Eastmoor Eastmoor is proud of its acade- mic achievements. Our school has won statewide recognition for its scholastic program. Modified classes for slow learners and programs for talented students, the first of their kind to be established in Columbus Public Schools, are successful at Eastmoor. How to study and ac- quire study habits are being taught to ninth and eleventh grade stu- dents with counseling to help them. Preparing their equipment for an experiment in chemistry is Mike Soult and Linda Stuart.
