The Quill and Scroll Society Quill and Scroll is the International Honorary Society for High School journalists. Membership is a distinct honor and is reserved for those outstanding publications staff members who meet the basic requirements established by the Society and its Local Chapters. Candidates for Quill and Scroll mem- bership must have demonstrated fully to the satisfaction of their staff advisor, the board of publications, or the school principal that they merit the award through high scholar- ship, journalistic achievement and service. They must be ap- proved by the Executive Secretary of the Society. Membership in Quill and Scroll at Eastmoor is based on outstanding work done on the staff of THE SHIELD, the Eastmoor yearbook, on the WARRIORS' SPEAR-IT column in the community newspaper, on the EASTMOOR CHAR- IOT our occasionally-published school paper' or on the LANCE our school magazine The basic requirement for membership is a seven semester accumulative scholastic erage in the upper third of the senior class Eastmoor members of Quill and Scroll for 1962 were named at the annual recognition assembly in May A special award for outstanding service was made to Mike Kohar staff artist for 1960 62 LOIS BOESCH JANET GRAY BOB LEWIS A .
