The Warriorettes The Warriorettes precision drill team, consisting of thirty members and six alternates, and headed by Miss jan Gurney, advisor, made their marching debut at the Eastmoor-Hartley football game on Friday, Sep- tember 22. The girls not only participate in half-time activi- ties at football games, they also take part at basket- ball games and march in parades. Outstanding this year were the Veterans' Day Parade and the Capital University Homecoming Parade, in both of which the Warriorettes marched by special invitation. The new uniforms made headlines and also rated a full-page feature story write-up in the Columbus Dispatch. In addition to presenting the new uniforms to the public, the write-up described how the girls worked to pay for their uniforms and built up their treasury. Highlighting social events were the annual ban- quet held in February and the Dog-Patch Drag dance. New Wfarriorettes for the coming year were chosen at March tryouts, which were open to all senior high girls who maintain a C average and can be present and punctual for meetings and practice. Leaving the field after a successful performance are War- riorettes Diane Fagan, Penny Dawson, Annette Katz, Dar- lene Barr, Caryl Martindale, and Cerie Schwartz. Each spring the Warriorettes sponsor the Dog-Patch Drag. Dressed in his hillbilly attire is Gary Compton, who seems to be having quite a time!
