OKLA Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma was presented by Eastmoor students on April 16th and 17th, 1959. More than 150 ambitious students prepared the popular musical comedy which was set in the Oklahoma Territory around the turn of the century. The show featured colorful western costumes, realistic scenery, and an old-time surrey. Songs included Oh, What a Beautiful Morning, People Will Say VVe're in Love, and l Can't Say No. Pam Smyser danced as Laurey in the ballet Out of My Dreams. Aunt Eller feels churn- ing is more important than listening to Curly's plans for wooing Laurey. Curly tries to lessen the tension between himself and Jud by visiting him at his living quarters. Letting her imagination take over, Laurey is al- most persuaded to go to the picnic with Curly. The peddler Hon Ewingj is told off by Aunt Eller who is aroused at his boldness. Ado Annie is watching. Ado Annie and Laurey are exchanging their views on the opposite sex.
