CLASS MOTTO Today's Hope. . . Tomorrow's Greatness CLASS FLOWER CLASS COLORS Yellow Rose Blue and Gold The end of the school year climaxed twelve years of study, fun, companion- ship for the 140 members of the class of '64, On Sunday, May 31st, the seventh graduating class of Eastmont donned caps and gowns for the first time to attend Baccalaureate Services in the gymnasium. Rev. Robert L. Morrill gave the Baccalaureate Address-- Quo Vadis ? Members of the class took part in the services and the Girls' Glee Club sang the closing hymn. Following Baccalaureate, many of the seniors met at La Frenieres' for the senior banquet which had been plaimed and organized by the class. The sen- iors not only had a wonderful meal together but also spent hours signing an- nuals and looking back on their Eastmont years. Finally Commencement day arrived. While the underclassmen took grueling semester finals, the seniors prepared for the evening. At 6:30 seniors started gathering in the rotunda while proud parents, friends, and relatives searched for seats in the gym. Just at 8:00 nature gave her crowning touch to the cere- mony--a thundering rain storm. The seniors, blocked from the gym by large pellets of Water, soon made a quick dash to the gym. Finally the band bega.n the Processional as the seniors marched in. Al Messersmith, senior class president, lead the group in the flag salute. Speakers for the evening were Pamela Sellers, Salutatoriang Susan Hazen, Valedictoriang Mr. Dintelman, Superintendent, Dr. William, President of Wenatchee Valley College, and Rev. E. D. Tollefson speaking in memory of Sandra L. Grant. The moment that all the seniors had waited for arrived as Mr. Lowell Sperline took the stage to present the diplomas. As each senior received his diploma and turned the blue and red tassel on his cap, tension mounted in the crowd. Many of the seniors could be seen holding back tears of sadness or joy. Graduation ended as the seniors marched into the world of adulthood with the sounds of Eastmont still in their ears.
