fmxaf Kathy Johns officially began her reign as Princess East Wenatchee at her coronation held in the early Spring of 1964. The pink and White theme was carried out even in the costumes of visiting Apple Blossom Queen Lynn Nicholson and her court. This was only the first of many exciting events in which Princess Kathy and her attendants Mid Fryhover and Pat Pilcher would par- ticipate. Through the efforts of the community and many dedicated Eastmont students, East Wenatchee was represented in the Grand Parade of the Apple Blossom Festival by a silver bedecked red velvet float. This vehicle, which was truly a Carousel of Beauty , carried Princess Kathy and her attendants through the parade. Accompa- nying the girls were the Eastmont Wildcat Band, Drill Team, and Majorettes.

The Junior Prom was a tremendous suc- cess this year in setting, atmosphere, and royalty selection. The junior class was fortunate to have such charming and radiant royalty. Queen Susan Marker and her prin- cesses, Sharon Banning, Kathy Cook, Carole Guerin, and Diane Ulin, were well worthy of the honor they received. Shangri-La, the theme of the prom, was brilliantly carried out with its silhouette of the Taj Mahal, its illuminated Japanese screens, and its rushing stream.
