FDA--Future Dishwashers of America What did you call me ?! Now let's see what happens when you pull all of the switches. . . Remember! Get Mr. Quorn to plug it into this hole. Other- wise he won't feel any shock. We've always used basketballs, but no, you had to use a dog. Oh but Mr. Policeman, we're just having a little friendly get together.

MR. ROBERT DINTELMAN Superintendent of Schools MR. JAY CHILDERS Assistant Superintendent mi Since its beginning, the Eastmont High School has grad- uated six senior classes, a total of 665 people. About 145 seniors will be graduated this year. Hence, our high school is still a relatively new school, compared with others in this part of the state. How successful has our high school been in its short his- tory? Has it measured up to the hopes and aspirations of the people who voted to establish it? How can the success of a high school be measured? If success means that a large number of our graduates succeed in college, we have some evidence of such success. If success means that many of our students win valuable scholarships, we can point with pride to many of these. If it means winning awards in competition with other schools in debate, public speaking, music, athletics, and other school activities, we have won quite a few awards. If a successful high school is one which keeps its students in school, we can quote figures to show that our attendance is among the highest and our number of drop-outs among the lowest in the country. If success means being recognized by other school authorities, we can point out that the East- mont High School is accredited by the State of Washington and by the Northwest Association of Secondary Schools. Yes, we have some evidence of the success of the East- mont High School. It is proper that We should be proud of these accomplishments. Yet, it seems to me, there are many other criteria for measuring the success of an edu- cational institution. There are many questions we might raise at this time for which we do not now have the an- swers. How good is the citizenship of our high school graduates? How intelligent is their voting? How interested are they in the affairs of the world and the future of our nation? How skillful are they in applying the knowledge acquired in school to the work they perform to earn a living? What kind of philosophy of life have they developed? What kind of par- ents will they be? What kind of attitudes will they inculcate in their children? What will their ultimate goals be? Until we know the answers to these questions, we will have only inadequate knowledge as to how successful our educational experience is. Robert Dintehnan, Superintendent THE ADMINISTRATIO
