In the 1958-59 school year we can say that the Eastmont High School has grown into maturity. There were two years of transition while we were adding first the tenth grade and then the eleventh. There was the first graduating class, the class of 1958. We have now reached the stage in our high school develop- ment when we can look back over the transitional years, evaluate the development which has taken place, make an appraisal of the school's present status, and project into the future our hopes and aspirations for the Eastmont High School. What are the indications that we are growing into maturity? Our staff has now acquired a tenure which was impossible in the first years of the high school's existence. Teachers and students have worked together to establish and maintain traditions of scholarship, loyalty, and high moral standards of social life. The Eastmont High School has been accredited by the State Board of Education and by the North- west Association of Secondary Schools. In the future we must uphold the standards and the traditions which we established at the beginning. We must also constantly seek to improve them and to acquire for this high school the best possible kind of reputation for a high school to have. ROBERT DINTELMAN, Superintendent Mrs. Norma Hanson and Mrs. Jane McCullough Don Gibbs, Assistant Superintendent Secretaries is 1' e1..:C.e X Y A m , g, 9 W www!! Rudy Johnson, Principal The issuance of the Emo Echo marks the end of the 1958-59 school year. This annual will help you remember our life and activities at Eastmont High School y . Mr. Luft, annual advisor: Gary Peters, annual editor: and the annual staff should he commended for a task well done. The administration would like to take this opportunity to thank the faculty, students, kitchen and cus- todial staff, the various student organizations, and the two office secretaries for their splendid help and cooperation during this past school year. Seniors of 1959, yOu are graduating at a challenging time. Much will he required of you in the years ahead. Do not be afraid to work. Success is the extra you do. Only memories of what took place remain. We would like to thank the fOll0Il'l'7Ig merchants who made it possible for us to add more pages to the annual: Belmont Radio and Music, Curtis Thriftway, East Wenatchee Water District, johnson's Inc., North Central Chevrolet and Sears, Roebuck and Co. The seniors have seen the high school grow from its first enroll- nzent of approximately 350 to 560. This growth is an indication that the present building zrill become inadequate in the next fezz' years. Eastnzont will continue to grow and develop ------ - tempus fugii
