How quickly and eventfully the days have passed since that first dreaded Freshman week. Many a fond memory will be preserved in the mind of each person of the class of ' 43. That riotous first week, starting September 18, 1939, with its daily freshman court and vociferous commands from the upper-classmen was climaxed with a delightful dance given in our honor by the parental Sophomores. Shortly afterwards the sophs were guests at our first social attempt, The Pumpkin Stomp and it was a good harvest, too! The Juniors followed with their annual barn dance, which provided an exciting evening for everyone. The Senior hay-ride was one hilarious jumble of fun. [ 6 +] ‘
