PHI MU ALPHA SINFUNIA ALPHA NU CHAPTER Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity was founded in 1898 at the New England Con- servatory of Music. Since then seventy chapters have been granted charters, making the Fraternity a national organization. Alpha Nu Chapter was installed here on January 24, 1925. The chapter numbers among its Alumni some of the finest per- formers in the country, while the National Organization includes on its roster the names of many of the great men in American Music. Members are chosen from the upper quarter of all women studying music who have at least a Junior rating. ln its endeavor to stimulate musical excellence and scholarship, Mu Upsilon Chapter awards an annual scholar- ship of one hundred dollars and the Marion Weed Prize to the sophomore woman who achieved the highest scholastic rating in her Freshman year. Among the year's activities were the formal musicales for eligible and Freshmen Women, the sponsoring by the sorority of the film the Moonlight Sonata starring lgnace Paderewski, the pleasure and inspiration of a visit from our National President, Bertha King, and the Public Musicale in Kilbourn Hall.
