6' fri Q if I NL Pclmte The Journalistic Creed We the Journalism Class of Eastl d H' an igh School in order to publish a more per- fect newspaper, establish Justice, and secure the blessings of Frcedom of the Press to ourselves and to those whom we represent, do ordain and establish this Journal- istic Creed, for the student body of Eastland High School. We believe, that our school newspaper is a school trust, that all connected with it are, to the full extent of their ability, trustees of this trust. We believe, that clear thinking, and clear statement, accuracy and fairness are the fundamentals of good Journalism. We believe, that suppression of the news is indefensible, for any consideration, other than the welfare of those involved. We believe, no individual shall skirk his responsibility, through others, We believe, that, advertising, news, and editorial columns should all be served in the best interest of the readers, that helpful truth and cleanness should prevail over all as the supreme test of good Journalism, We believe, that Journalism which succeeds best and best deserves success- fears God and Honors Man , is independent and unmoved by'pride or greed, is con- structively tolerant, never careless, self-controlled and patient, respectful of its readers, is profoundly patriotic and lastly, is a journal of school activities of and about the student body and th f ' e aculty of Eastland High School.
