When in course of school events, it becomes neces- sary for the Senior Class to dissolve the educational bonds which have connected it to the other clas ses, and to assume the duties of citizenship for which their school life has prepared them, a decent respect to the opinion of the other classes requires that they should transcribe this history leading up to their graduation. We, the Senior Class of 1956, entered the halls of Eastland High School in the fall of 1952, feeling a bit apprehensive but eager to begin our higher education. Our class elected Miss Jeanne Campbell and Mr. Warren Warken as Co-Sponsors, Fred Fuhr, Presidentg Nick Posegay, Vice-President, Helen Dilts, Secretary, and Donna DeCarlo, Treasurer to govern us during our first session of school. We had our first major activity in December, it was the Santa Claus Hop. It was a huge success, so we thought. As our representatives to the Senior Carnival, the Class elected Karen Dilley, Queen and Fred Fuhr as King. As our Sophomore year convened, we elected as class officers: Fred Fuhr, President, Aurelio Carrizales, Vice-President: Helen Dilts, Secretaryg and Donna DeCarlo, Treasurer. Miss Campbell again was our Sponsor. As Mr. Warken had not returned to Eastland we selected Mr. Max Autrey as Co-Sponsor. Our candidates for the Senior Carnival this year were Dorothy Spurling and Doug Reckinger, both of whom have left us. Our dance that year was called Operation Kick-off. The dance had a football theme. As Junior statesmen, we began our third session by electing Fred Fuhr, Pre si dent, Nick Posegay, Vice-President, Helen Dilts, Secretary, and Donna DeCarlo, Treasurer. Our Sponsors were the same as the preceding year. Our Junior Play was held on April Fool's Day and entitled Q Wedding. The biggest event of our Junior year was the annual Junior-Senior Banquet at Hillcrest Country Club, We again elected our candidates for the Senior Carnival, our choices were Donna DeCarlo, Queen and Frank Serazio, King. Taking our honored places as Senior statesmen, we again had Miss Jeanne Campbell and Mr. Max Autrey as Co-Sponsors. The officers remained the same as our Junior year. One of the biggest events this year was the first homecoming at Eastland. Karen Dilley and Gene Goodman were crowned Co-Queens at the dance along with their court composed of Gloria Bosch, Donna DeCarlo, Sue Compton, Lillian Arcese, Helen Dilts, and Marlene Wiesemann. Our Senior Play was a memorable one entitled Sweetheart of U-Baka-Pi. And for the support of this declaration and with a firm reliance on what the future holds for us, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our Sacred Honor. 23 THE SENIOR CLASS
