Lee King, Ieanne Young, and Mason Foley. The Warpath journal is the news magazine, that for the first time in its history, had two issues. The first issue was distributed in the winter, with the second issue in the spring. The magazine contained ocal, state, national, and international news. Michelle Harker was the editor. She was assisted by Aron Bouillon. Genesis is Eastern Wayne's literary magazine. Kristin O'Donnell was the editor. Students at Eastern VVayne submitted artwork, poetry, short stories, and essays which were judged by teachers and other students. The magazine was printed and distributed in the spring. The Wayne Collection - Third Edition was edited by Christy lWilliams. It was a countywide literary magazine, Submissions were imade by students from the twenty-one schools in XVayne County. Art- lwork, poetry, essays, and short stories were submitted to be judged first, second, third, and honorable mention. Awards for the above two magazines were ribbons, certificates, rand a copy ofthe magazine, which were awarded at the awards ceremonies, for individual schools, and during the The Wayne Collection Award Night. The Warrior Report, a school news bulletin, was edited by Mason Foley, assisted by Suzanne Thompson. In its first year, the report, announcing coming events and reporting news worthly activities, was distributed to students and teachers in the school at sometime during each month. Visions, a slide show shown on Author-Meet-Author-Night was developed by the entire journalism staff. A yearbook is 21 preserva- tion ofthe good old timesf, In September, new staff members and editors entered Mrs. Patricia Hesteris classroom with new and exciting ideas for the year- book. Everyone learned something . . . something new everyday. Layouts were drawn, copy was written, calculated, and typed, the computer was used, pictures were taken and cropped, captions were written, yearbooks were sold, deadlines were met, and stafi members were always ready with new ideas! If all of this sound easy . . . you're wrong. The work is not completed until each staifmemhei checks his own pages, the editors check the pages, and, finally, the advisor gives her approval. Most ofthe mistakes are corrected, but please keep in mind with sc many words and pictures, it is almost an impossible job to correct every mistake. Robin Coor was business manager. Her job included selling ads and preparing the pages fbr deadlines. When bills Har ads were sent out and received, Robin had the responsibility of keeping accurate records. Photography is a very important aspect ofthe yearbook, because so many pictures are used. Therefore, many pictures must be taken. Although problems arose from time to time, David Taylor, photog- raphy editor was always ahle to handle the worries. His staifincluded f-'53 ...-, S.
