The 1986 Boys Tennis Team, led by Tim McConnell, had a record of 8-6 in the Conference with a loss to WVilson Hunt which put them at 8-7 in non-conference. At Wilson, the Warriors came in second place out of 21 teams. Singles were Tim McConnell with 10 points, Steve Matusevic, Tray Baker, and Danny Dant with 3. Doubles were Richard Giddens and Scott Goodwin with 1. Awards were received by Tim McConnell, Most Valuable Playerg Danny Dant, Most Im- proved Playerg Tray Baker, The POLITO Awardg and Matt Amesg the Coaches Award. uComing in second place at the Regionals and having Tim qualify for the State Tourna- ment was a great accomplishment. I want to thank the boys for all their hard workf, Coach Ralph Smith stated. Coach Smith has been coaching Boys Tennis since the 1985-86 tennis season. Majorettes Twirl to The Beat Of The Band! Baton twirling, high stepping, and strutting is their thing. Leading the hand, followed hy the YVarriorettes, and the Flag Girls, the Majorettes battle the crowded streets of parades. They al- ways have smiles on their laces to show how proud they are to be representing their school. With their colorful uniforms and high hoots, they give it all they have to entertain and amaze the cheering crowds with their Hincy twirling and sky-high throws that always end in perfect catches. The sponsor of' the Majorettes is Mr. Angelo Holman. During the 1986-87 year they, along with hand memhers, sold candy to raise money for a planned trip to Florida for National Competition.
