The 1986 Boys Tennis Team, led by Tim McConnell, had a record of 8-6 in the Conference with a loss to WVilson Hunt which put them at 8-7 in non-conference. At Wilson, the Warriors came in second place out of 21 teams. Singles were Tim McConnell with 10 points, Steve Matusevic, Tray Baker, and Danny Dant with 3. Doubles were Richard Giddens and Scott Goodwin with 1. Awards were received by Tim McConnell, Most Valuable Playerg Danny Dant, Most Im- proved Playerg Tray Baker, The POLITO Awardg and Matt Amesg the Coaches Award. uComing in second place at the Regionals and having Tim qualify for the State Tourna- ment was a great accomplishment. I want to thank the boys for all their hard workf, Coach Ralph Smith stated. Coach Smith has been coaching Boys Tennis since the 1985-86 tennis season.
