Spirit Week -- November 3-7 This year, Spirit VVeek at Eastern NVayne was outrageous! Not all students participated in the scheduled activities, but those who did, showed tremendous school spirit. The week began on Monday with ing Baby Day was Tuesday. The girls who dressed forthe activitiy were , adorable. Guys, not too many of you dressed as adorable babiesli' Wednesday was Hawaiian Day. i'Aloha spirit penetrated the entire school making it an island paradise. On Thursday, the Roman Empire rose, for togas were seen everywhere. Now, Spirit Week would not have been complete without NVarrior Day. Alter a fun-filled day of VVarrior activities Qbuying Howers or balloons for your special personl, the students gathered on the football field for a 'KWarriorV Power pep rally. The Warrior chants were heard for miles aroundgt. This was also a sadf occasion, for seniors were bid farewell at their last football pep rally. November 7, 1986 - Homecoming Sophomore Homecoming Princess, Dava Thompson, junior Homecoming Princess, Lisa Perez, Senior Homecoming Princess, Dawn Gray, and now, the 1986-87 Eastern Wayne High School Homecoming Queen is - Rhonda Cokerlv announced Bill Linquist Jverthe loud speaker to students, parents, and guests at Eastern Wayne Highis last home football game. . Pageantry formed the background for Eastern Wayne Highis 1986 Homecoming Ceremony. Fifteen young ladies, sitting upon sports zars, rounded the track. As each car stopped in front of the crowd, the foung ladies departed and paraded onto the football field. Each was presented a single, long stem red rose by Ms. Carol Battle-Bell. Returning was our 1984 Homecoming Queen, Katherine Fletcher, es- :orted by john Crabill. Miss Fletcher presented a bouquet of flowers to Rhonda Coker, who was escorted by Donnie Butts, after she was crowned the 1986-87 Eastern Wayne High School Homecoming Queen by Mr. Donald jones, principal. Other than Miss Coker, the Homecoming Court consisted of Dawn Gray escorted by Martin Richter, Ida Britto escorted by Tony Thomp- Eddie Daniels, Lisa Perez escorted by Gil Perez, Emily Bell escorted by Anthony Neal, Dianna Downs escorted by Anthony Russo, Enga Davis escorted by Johnny Lewis, Ir., La Shon Wiggin escorted by Terrell Lofton, Dava Thompson escorted by Chad Smith, Kesha,Best escorted by William Britto, Angela Sheets escorted by lay, Meade, Lisette Simmons escorted by Sgt. Michael johnson, and Leigh Wilcox escorted by Alan Wilcox. Performances by the band, Flag Girls, Warriorettes, and Majorettes provided entertainment, as well as, added a special touchto the Homecoming festivities. . 1 An exciting football game, and the crowning of a queen - What else could be done to make the day any better? One thing - DANCE. Mr. Bill served as the D.I. at the dance. A barbecuefchicken dinner, catered by Wilberis and sponsored by the Homecoming Committee, was held before the Homecoming Game.
