nesioenfs essaqe A YEAR TO REMEMBER The dimensions of the Eastern campus are changing. A first impression of such comes from new buildings or from dreams still to be solidified in brick and stone. A second awareness may be of the increase in numbers of individuals coming and going across the walkways and shortcuts of the campus. The new laboratories and classrooms could catch the attention of many. Library holdings will amaze the uninitiated. New tools for teaching and learning will attract the attention of others. These are merely the means. The physical items and numbers are only indicative of a more significant changing dimension, the student. As you journey through this yearbook you will note how a capable staff has captured the human qualities of its peers. You will be impressed with students' intent on a major college mission. You will see evidences of the out-of-class ac- tivity contributing to developmental goals. You will see examples of initiative that accomplished results and decisions that moved organizational objectives forward. ln these pages will be seen groups at work, a play in progress, com- mittees in collaboration, or teams in lively competition. Here will be memories for a lifetime. Here will be recollections of many achievements. Here is a year of most significant student awareness and growth. This year could well mark a prelude to Easternls future potential as a higher institution. Only students and faculty can lift a college to true greatness. Many of such ingredients will be seen on the pages to follow. This will be a Year to Remember. Don S. Patterson President
