ew +3 The providing of education to young people can be one of the soundest investments any state can make for its future. In accepting this opportunity for a college education, you in turn must always face up to the added demands and responsibilities. The determination of the soundness of such an investment will be largely dependent upon you. The privilege which has been yours and the requisites of the future should be a constant challenge and motivation. There will be new enterprises to be started. Many menial tasks will have to be done. All types of wholesome human relationships must be established and maintained. The wisdom you have gained here on the Eastern campus awaits your translation into intelligent behavior. There are always demands for clear thinking in innumerable situations. You willconstantly be called upon to foster and cherish our many freedoms. You must constantly be a champion for the expressed hopes and aspirations of our founding fathers. ln your hands will rest the task of preserving arid passing on to your children and your children's children the great heritage and inheritance which is yours.
