se epaa : The Student National Medical Association The EVMS Chapter SNMA was organized through the efforts of the Area Health Education Center’s Minority Affairs program in November, 1980. Since that time, the organization has sponsored conferences on the concerns of minority medical students, lectured at local Black colleges, sponsored the administration of a pre-MCAT type exam, and had sponsored a National Boards Part | Workshop. We have furnished the opportunity for investigation and discussion of a wide range of topics including How to Survive (clinics, electives, residency application), Self Defense, Birthing Alternatives and Dual Career Marriages. The student branch of the American Medical Women’s Association was chartered in 1983 at EVMS. Still in its infancy, the group looks forward to interacting with practicing AMWA members in the Tidewater Area.
