For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. In your short stay here, you have had many experiences Which you Will remember and savor. The sweet taste of learning and discovery, the warmth of friendships formed with Classmates, and the luxuriousness of Great Oak will keep Eastern in yOur thoughts. You have been guided through a course of study designed to equip you for many tasks. The driving force through all this has been the fact that the mind must be trained be- fore it can comprehend. The training is long and hard, but you know that there are no short cuts in educa- tion. If you think you have found any, be sure that you will be shortchanged When you use them. Above all, I hope that you have finished your undergraduate training With a thirst for excellence in all things. As you move toward your goals, strike out on the way not so plainly marked. Move toward the difficulties so that in success you will find satisfaction, nay, but joy; for satisfaction is lowly, but how pure and rich a thing is joy. I leave with you this one thought from the pen of Robert Frost in llThe Road Not Taken - Two roads diverged in a wood, and 1- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.
