X. , E is 3 ginedf in fAe Soufkweaf THE COMPLETION of the new theatre highlighted C1 two-year building program at Eastern. Built at a cost over S230,000, the new-ultra modern structure seats over 500 people. lt has been dubbed one of the finest theatres in the Southwest. The grand opening played before two overflowing crowds. The theatre features an unusual plasterdome cyclo- rama. In back of the proscenium arch, space is provided for scene construction and painting, dressing rooms, make-up, storage, and classrooms. Off the entrance foyer will be found offices of the director and staff, powdeil room, and light control board. The stage lighting isl similar to that found in the Dallas Municipal Theatre.l The attractively furnished foyer and aisles are carpeted.
