Some of the events recorded here are big ones, others could hardly be called events . . . but each is important because each is you. Dedication ln recognition of 16 years of outstanding service on this cam- pus, the students of ENMU dedicate the 1955 SILVER PACK to BECKY SHARP, professor in secretarial science. Hailing from South Carolina when she came here in 1939, Dr. Sharp still retains her southern friendliness and good humor, and a trace of her accent. A student's teacher, she is sincerely interested in every one of her students not only as long as each is under her instruction, but also after he leaves the campus. She has been remarkably successful in placing her students in positions throughout the United States and some foreign countries. Known as one of the most energetic and loyal faculty, Dr. Sharp last year became chairman of the School of Business and Economics. She received her Ph. D. degree from Columbia uni- versity, New York, in 1950. On military leave during World War ll, she was in one of the most responsible positions in England when she was the only woman to assist with the planning of the Normandy invasion. She received high honors for this work in the WACs. For more than a decade and a half Dr. Sharp has devoted her boundless vitality to serving her students and her University. ln appreciation the students of Eastern New Mexico University be- stow upon her this, their greatest honor.
