THAT ' S RIGHT, HE ' S RIGHT! Fairest of the fair co-eds of ENMC were chosen by none other than the Old Professor Kay Kyser. from pictures of twenty-four campus lovelies sent him. Kav selected the two prettiest and four ninners-iip. Tough assi ;nmcnt because they are all so pretty, he says in his let- ter, printed Ijclow. Despite the laet th.it photographs are seldom accurate barometers of beauty, since the click of a camera cannot cap- ture the personality, charm, or grace that are prerequisites of be.iutv, The Old Professor has done a splendid job of selecting I lie cream of ENMC ' s crop of beauties. y e . Februaiy 22, 1940 Editor Ira B. West The 1940 Silver Pack Portale.s, New Mexico Dear Editor West: Under separate cover I ' m retuniiiig the pictures submitted to me. I appreciate the honor of selecting the first six ladies for the Silver ' Pack Beauty Section. However, you gave me a tough assignment because they are all so pretty. Also it ' s a very ticklish thing to stick your neck out and say one gal is prettier than another. Nevertheless I ' ve made a stab at it and I certainly hope my selection meets with the approval of the student body and you. I hope you ' ll impress upon everyone concerned, the fact that we have never seen any of these ladies, and, therefore, the selection was made entirely on the merits of the pictures. No doubt the pictures flatter some and do not do justice to others. However, on the basis of the photographs my choice is as follows: First marked on back No. i Second marked on back No. 2 Third marked on back No. 5 Fourth marked on back No. 4 Fifth marked on back No. 5 Sixth marked on back No. 6 Thanking you again for the honor you have bestowed upon me, and hoping that The 1940 Silver Pack will be the best ever, I am. Sincerely yours, KK:AC [O f M- -
