I direct my message especially to them, knowing that what is appropriate for their day of graduation is timely for all of us. Seniors of 1946, you are that vital part of E.N.C. now to be transplanted into the work-a-day world. The ideals and goals of this college can only be perpetuated and extended as this is done beyond the campus confines in life itself. Eastern Nazarene College has not endeavored to give you an answer to all of the problems of lifeg but she has endeavored to give you a small working capital and depositum of truth so that you can go into business for yourself in the world of ideas. She has endeavored to show you that there is a revelation of God in the Wordeboth written and Livinge-that is the basis for all our reckoning and pursuits. There is a spirit to Eastern Nazarene College which I trust you have caught-fa spirit of sincerity and humility, that takes seriously the implications of the divine words for personal and social living, Be ye holy, for I am holy. It is the spirit which asserts that a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth and believes unhesitatingly that true greatness can only be achieved in a life of service rendered in a spirit of selflessness.
