Cllass Adlviserfs Message By J. NIARK ST.-XUFFER Dl'1.'XR SICNIORSI The present moment that finds us seated here together is a tense, solemn one. To many of you, it is the fulfillment of your fondest dream,-an answer to prayer. The privilege you have had in attending a conservative church school dare not be lightly esteemed. As a faculty, we have tried to write the school motto, Tm' XVORD Is TRUTH, indelibly upon your keen, fertile minds. Vvithout forgetting your physical, intellectual, and social development, we have felt burdened to lay special stress upon your spiritual growth in an attempt to prepare you for future service to God. Because you have been students at this school you have a greater obligation than ever before. Increased knowledge and experience brings in- creased responsibility. Each of you has a pro- found obligation to God, the Church, your parents, this school, your home community, our government, and to the great mass of people who are suffering from physical and spiritual starvation. Vvhile at school you have had many opportunities to develop your talents and to learn the conservative Christian way of life. This has added to your respon- sibility, and now as you are about to leave us, our sentiment as a faculty is expressed in the words of the Apostle lohn in his third epistle, verse four, I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. You are about to leave the atmosphere of E.lVI.S. and return to your respective home communities. The world in which you will find yourself is filled with war and with all its attendant evils. The duration and outcome of this conflict is unpredictable. Besides this, the world in which we live has gone mad after pleasure and money: it is intellectually irreligious: it is socially corrupt: it is desperately in need of a Saviour. ln the face of all this and the fact that around you men's hearts are failing them for fear, l ask you to have the strength and courage of a Christian soldier. Your class motto, LORD, DIRECT Us, is undoubtedly the most appro- priate prayer that you can pray at this time. The days that lie before you will demand great strength and stability to live victoriously. You will want to live beneath the shadow of the cross and with the power and vitality of our risen Lord: you will need to fortify your hearts with prayer and the invincible Yvord of God. Finally, vou will be required to give yourself wholly to God and allow Him to mold and direct vour lives for His service. Dear Seniors, l bid you farewell. May the Lord bless you and keep you.
