CLASS PROPHECY Late one night the entire graduating class of Elco High School went to see a lit- tle, shrivled-up, old, Gypsy fortune teller. Their purpose was to determine what they would be doing in the future, after their graduation. The large silent circle of students clustered around the stooped form of the old lady sitting in front of her tent. Before her was a brilliant crystal ball. She gazed intently into the ball for sev- eral seconds and then raised her head. She stared hard at the class for several sec- onds then her cracked lips parted and she spoke with the wisdom of the ages. I seef' she said in a high, shrill voice, c'Buzzard May as head dance instructor at the Dietrich Memorial Ballet School and live former soccer players named joel Mil- ler, Snap Zimmerman, Eric Ream, Harold Haag, and Harry Walmer attending class- es there. Five girls are still in charm school - Esther Salem, jackie Lutz, Bonnie Hippert, Sandy Shanaman, and Sue Eblingf, I see a barber shopfhair salon run by Lynn Ondrusek, jim Strobel, and Linda Rhoads. There are six customers inside named Steve Scipioni, jay Kegerreis, Kerry Batdorf, Donald Sands, Glenn Smith, and Lee Strausef' I hear a radio playing in the shop. I hear a big record sung by the Idle-Vise Sin- gers whose members are Mike Huber, Nancy Ziegler, Irene Long, and Anne Strick- er. I hear a hymn sung by a church choir next. The choir is directed by janie Yeag- ley with Carolyn Sonnon playing the piano. Two of the singers are Brenda XVhite and Karen Weikf, 'KI hear next on the radio a sports show. The sportscaster is Bill F orry, I hear that five former students were at a jockey Union banguet. They are Gery Foulk, Ralph Miller, Dennis Fertig, Bill Snoke and Paul Schae erf, I hear at Wimbleton, two former students face each other - Park Haverstick and Larry Straussf' I see the annual Olympics being held in Moscow. Several former students have gotten gold medals. Gary Miller is receiving one in pole vaulting, Sally Botz is re- ceiving one for swimming, and Charlie Weigley is receiving one for the 180 meter race. I see a baseball game. Three great players are playing. Ed Swisher, Monk Trout- man, and the pitcher, Tom Goodison. The president of the National League is talk- ing about Tom. - i'He,s a good pitcher when it comes to milk. I see the Inquirer track meet in Philadelphia. Four girl runners have just beat out all others and took the first four places in the womenis 100 meter. They were Sally Ressler, Sylvia Weaver, Karen Angstadt, and Lorraine Weidman. I see an American girls hockey team touring Europe. It's being managed by Car- ol Bucher. Two former Elco players are on the team - Yvonne Hoffman and janie Bucherfi I see jimmy Gibble has just won the PGA. Sandy Brightbill has just bowled a perfect game at Highway Lanes, Myerstownf, I see George jury, David Bucher, and Charlie Hibshman lining up their cars at the Indy 5007 HI see a demolishion derb . Four drivers have been battling for three hours. Rex Border, Howard Kramer, jeff Erhart, and Lyle Bashoref' I see a library. Three people are working there as librarians - jean Bucks, jean F rysinger, and Brenda Kurtz. I see several people studying dili ently in the library. They are john Shaeffer, Robert Walker, Danny Snyder, Bi Zerlde, and Larry Miller. Danny is still studying English for Mr. Painef, I see two partners in the shoe business. Ed Digiacomo is making them and Shell Zimmerman is selling themf, I see two brand new owners of Willow Lake - Nancy Layser and Theresa Herr. I see Tootie Morris and Ernie Gogets as bouncers there. I see Buzzy Levengood as the new auctioneer at Buffyis Auction and I see Louie Kreiser buying all the fine merchandise he can afford. I see Harry Light playing Santa Claus at an orphanage run by Donna Yoderf, I see a dairy owned by Dennis Mock with Ronald Risser and Carl Weaver as the two milkers and David Miller driving the milk truckf' I see Maynard Laudermilch working as a mechanic at Webber's Garage now being run by Clair Hessf, 57

They are Jim Hoffman, Becky Hertzog, Sandy Gibble, Marcia Tobias, and Ronald Shueyf' I see the Dixie is now owned by Dennis Ziegler and Ron Davis. The Twin Kiss is also under new ownership. It's owned by Cookie Gillen and Betty Hibshmanf, I see Janie Hixenheiser is helping some guy named Dennis launch rocketsf' 'SI see a parade approaching. There's the Hershey Chocolateers with Larry Wea- land playing the lea bugle, here comes the beautiful Linda Kloiplp who is the new Miss F rystown. Here comes our U.S. senator, Arthur Weaver, an ere at the end of the play comes Mr. America - Brian Ream, who is seen flashing his handsome smilef, I see a huge airliner being piloted by Judy Leffler. The stewardess isdJessica Sham- ber. She's busy aiding such passengers as Grace Long and Grace Howar , missionaries bound for Africa. Thereis the famous T.V. personality Lydia Sanger, the famous horse rider Susie Mills, the famous disc jockey from radio station S-I-L-E-N-C-E, Pauline Hummel, the stunt man from Hollywood, Clyde Bender, and Sam Blouch, the black belt karate expert. There's famed opera singer Harriet Eckenroth and the great fly paper maker, Lynn Buggf, Jessica stogs to tal to a strange looking Indian named Steve Sandrock. He claims itis har ened make-up from some play e was in. Sitting with Steve are Rich- ard Fry and Richard Harper. What's this? The stewardess just slapped that famous Casanova Dale Firestinef, I see two mighty hunters - Robin Hood and Little John, formally known as Gary Stohler and Jerry Daubf' I see someone following in my footsteps. Olga Illus is going to be a Gypsy for- tune teller like mef' ' see John Snoke as the owner of a chain of gas stationsf, see that Louella Zuck is still knitting away like she was in her senior yearf, UI see several accountants working for Mr. Stettler who is now in the Income Tax business. Ellen Weiant is the chief accountant. Donna Garman is the senior accoun- tant. Those talkative Bugg twins, Liz and Sylvia are still making so much noise Mr. Stettler canit think right., I see a stay in the great tradition of James Bond, his name is Jeff Pagef, I see Bar ara Fetter still trying to p ay tennisf' I see the campus of Milton Hershey High School, the principal is that great gen- ius Gary Deck. Out of the doors comes a woman carrying a bucket. VVhy it's Cindy Reedy the housemotherf' I see the first teenage night club in Lebanon county. Itis owned by Julie Pearson. Two dancers working there are Vicki Auman and Cindy Stricklerf' I see a secluded mansion. In it is Elton Gunning the eccentric genius? I see Donna Weik, an interior decorator, now working at one of the biggest firms in New York City. I see Karen Bucher and Marjorie Miller as bio-chemists working to produce a ter- mite killer to exterminate the pests that are troubling Tim Haag's Lumber Yard. I see that famous restaurant owner Barbara Beard. With her are frequent visitors to her restaurant. Thereys Marilyn Spinnato the great educator, the famous cheer- leader teacher Elaine Himmelberger, this year's Rose Bowl queen, Sandra Boyer, and Carol Hardy famous star of TV,s Television Kitchenf' 'KI see that David Bicksler is still jerking sodas behind a fountain and Bonnie Bol- ton is still trying to see over the counter to place her order.
