Fall Semester Registers 12,341 With summer over, students returned to Rich- mond for another year. Some for their first; some for their last. A record number of students arrived on campus raising total enrollment to an all-time high of 12,341, including a 10,580 on-campus record. After perhaps one day of preparation, registra- tion began and lines mounted with the increased enrollment. Lessening the hassel a bit, Eastern continued its pre-registration and orientation pro- gram for incoming freshmen. Top: With a new semester starting, students return to campus sparking a flurry of activity. Right: Little sister lends a helping hand with some of the bare necessities. 26 UNIVERSITY LIFE

BOG Fair . . . Action Included in the major Greek events of the year was the BOG County Fair. Both sorori- ties and fraternities sponsored booths holding such sporting events as ring tossing, pie throwing, and kissing. The Fair was open to Greeks and inde- pendents with both participat- ing in contests like stilt walking, arm wrestling, cider drinking, and turtle racing. Trophies were given to the winners in all events. The Fair ended with a dance in Burnam Hall where the trophies for the best booth and most spirit were given.
