More Than 9,600 Register For Fall When registration for the first se- mester ended, the last student through the line pushed the fall enrollment figure to 9.602. The registration total was 62 stu- dents less than the year before: a fact creditable to the new draft lottery, an abatement of the influx of students from the post WWII baby boom, and a general cool down of the economy. Registration was the same as al- ways, with two minor exceptions. Due to the new academic calendar, it was completed about three weeks earlier than normal; and a few hundred in- coming freshmen had registered early in the summer.
