Board of Regents The Board of Regents, headed by the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, is the governing body of the College. In dealing with matters of every phase of administration, theirs is the final authority in all school matters. Dr. Robert R. Martin, Chairman of the Board, is a graduate of Eastern and State Superintendent of Public Instruction. JJitt Ernest E. Begley, Chairman of the Board of Education in Hazard, is a pharmacist and businessman. Robert B. Hensley is a Louisville at- torney. Earle B. Combs, Sr., State Commis- sioner of Banking, is a former Eastern student and big-league baseball star. Thomas B. McGregor, a Frankfort at- torney, is a former Circuit Court judge. H. D. Fitzpatrick, Jr. is a Prestonsburg banker and a graduate of Eastern. Former Governor Flem D. Sampson resides in Barbourville where he prac- tices law.

The Deans Dean of the College, Dr. W. J. Moore is relied upon by students and faculty, as well as by the President, to direct the instructional activities on campus. His interest in the individual student makes him an outstanding person as well as an able administrator. Dean of Women, Mrs. Emma Y. Case, serving as advisor to women students, promotes the personal and social we I- re of the women of Eastern. Her f riendliness and genuine terest in d admira every student ha ion. won her profound respect Dean of Men, Mr. Quentin B. Keen ' s conscientiousness in supervision and counseling has gained him high esteem among the men students on campus. He is successful as both teacher and administrator.
