The MILESTONE 11 Our Senior Class Days must come and days must go. Some days are happy — others sad. But we as Seniors of Eastern are fast approaching a day which will bring both joy and sadness. The joy comes from thinking that we as individuals have reached the end of the fourth milestone in our college career, and are now ready to join a larger army and march along facing life and its many problems. But the thought of leaving our Eastern, the place we have learned to love dur- ing our four years within her doors, brings sadness to our hearts. The Class of ' 33, for the most part, has remained intact during the four years spent at Eastern. The members have made themselves known by keep- ing the spirit of cooperation and working to hold higher the ideals that Eastern has set before them. It would be folly to enumerate the things that the Class has done to prove its worth in carrying out these standards, but it can be i - ; said of the Class of ' 33 that it has fought the army of problems that were ; ' confronted in the fourth mile — victory is its reward. Various members of the Class of ' 33 have shown the ability of this class to carry on, by assuming leadership in many campus activities. Such organiza- tions as the Y. M. C. A., Sigma Tau Pi, Little Theatre Club, Madrigal Club, Canterbury Club, Social Science Club, Sigma Psi Sigma, Agriculture Club, Rural Life Club, and the E Club have chosen their presidents from the Class of ' 33. The Class also supplied the captains of the Football and Basket- ball teams. Our personal history as a class would only be an enumeration of many things that is common to any graduating class. We have gone through the V years striving to make the best of the situations that came into our career. f I If we have one claim to distinction, it is that we have learned the meaning Q ;• : of the invaluable word, comradship; comradship with our well trained faculty, L| . ' ii ■ who have striven so hard to teach that we might learn; comradship with our ' j .• president, who has led us through our four years at Eastern; and comradship .1 I with our fellow students, whom we have learned to love. ' V ' s It is with a feeling of sadness that we bid goodbye to school days and to ■ ' yk Eastern, but it is the sincerest wish of every Senior that he may be able to carry on, guided by the spirit of Eastern so nobly set forth in our school song — Alma Mater.
