THE ARROW EASTERN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL PONTIAC, MICHIGAN JUNE I, 1962 The many opportunities for leader- ship, service, scholarship, and character building at Eastern Junior High School are the result of extreme effort on the part of both students and faculty. These opportunities do not just happen... they are planned for and striven for. We hope our students have grasped every offering and used it to a good advantage. Now, our students should work ahead diligently, for what is done in the next three years will determine what direction the rest of life will take. Mr. Theodore Wiersema Prancipal Thank you, Students and Faculty This issue of THE ARROW honors the fine achievements of our Eastern Junior High School students and fac= ulty for another out-standing school year. Pupils and teachers alike have worked hard to attain our high goals set for this year. This book will be a constant reminder to all of us of the part our school plays in the development of each individual student. Junior high school is only a stepping stone in the journey through life, but the lessons learned here will make purposeful and lasting impressions. This book represents many of these worthwhile lessons... Mr. Ronald Kasher Mr. Donald DeVoe

nN PRESENTING: This isthe story of time, youth, challenge, and spirit. Explore this book and observe how Eastern has adapted itself to the fast moving pace of the twentieth century. Watch and notice how we students, young and eager, meet the challenge of the modern parade of man in society. Live with us as we display the spirit of our school. But the spirit that we students have consists of more than only our school, it accompanies the spirit to participate and live with others... helping the lonely new student get acquainted with the school and students..-sitting in a classroom unaware of time, writing an article for our school paper...standing off stage with a lump in our throats as we prepare ourselves for the awaiting graduation...and placing our school on the level of best, because we know that our school is best! These and the memories of many more are the backbone of our school spirit. These are the days that we are young, and this is our story.
