Dear Reader, As we sit here on this bleak, dreary, rainy Friday after- noon before Homecoming, our task at hand is to introduce this book to 8,000 students, friends, parents and relatives. In looking at this wide range of people who will read this book, our theme of collections comes to mind. We would like for you to stop and think for one, just one brief moment, what collections means to you and you alone. Is it the forty-leven baseball cards you traded for, the Barbie doll clothes, the eighth grade bug collection, the pop bottles, the comic books, the stamps, or is it . . .? One can go on indefinitely. We felt collections represented the places, events, buildings, classes, inanimate objects and most of all people here at Eastern and, of course, the inevitable rainy after- noons for thinking. With these thoughts in mind we invite you to turn to the rest of the magazines and relate them to you.
