In appreciation of her long service in the field of education, the i966 Clan is respectfully dedicated to Miss Arabella Odell, who retires August 3l, A graduate of Cleburne High School, she received her BA and MA degrees from the University of Texas. Beginning her teaching career at North Side High, Miss Odell soon moved to lennings Avenue School and then to Central High, which is now Tech. Several years later Miss Odell ioined the faculty at Handley High, where she taught English until Eastern Hills opened in l959. She taught English that first year and was senior counselor. She moved up to her present position of dean of girls the next year. Ot her teaching Miss Odell said, I taught boys and girls, not Eng- x Nil' X tc ? TL lish. 'tj I 1 rm Mr. Luther Scarborough, Handley principal congratulates Miss Odell lor her devoted service to education. Miss Winnie Bedell, Mr. lloyd Parker, and Mrs, Lois Gunn, all former co-workers with Miss Odell at Handley, greet her at the reception held in her honor The faculty at EHHS and P-TA presented her a watch and television set.
