She came to Eastern on an auspicious day, No- vember l1, 1918, to become a teacher of English and iournalism. The first iournalism class at Eastern, in fact, was taught by Miss Egbert, and she was also faculty adviser to the student publications. Miss Egbert's scholastic and professional train- ing have also been varied, for she has studied at the Universities of Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Har- vard, and American, but finished the work for her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees at George Wash- ington.
