It’s not the amount at all—it’s the intention. If the depositor is in earnest and really wants to save and make his account grow— that’s all we ask. Every man and woman who has a bank account should remember, of course, that banks have expenses to pay and these expenses must be met by the earnings from loaning the depositors’ balances—hence it follows that each account should reach a point where it is self- sustaining. It’s worth while to be favorably known at your bank, especially so for the young man who may later need the bank’s assistance in some business venture.
