ADMINISTRATION Those people most affecting our daily lives at Eastern are the School Board members-King's Row on the double page. Extreme right-Mr. Rich, former principal of Eastern, has capably stepped into the high posi- tion of Superintendent of Schools. Dr. Thorne-far left, has completed his second year as assistant superintendent. Because of his efficiency and administrative ability, he has well earned his position. Through the guidance of Mr. Wheeler. second from right, Eastern High School has again com- pleted a highly successful year. A competent leader and firm executive, Mr. Wheeler has done an excellent job and holds the loyalty and respect of his faculty and student body. Mr. Leyrer, center, recently discharged from the armed services, has returned to Eastern as assistant principal. From a previous experience as teacher at Eastern, Mr. Leyrer has done much to do away with tardiness. Second from left-Miss Benjamin, dean of girls. directs Girls' League, Honor Society and Stu- dent Council. Being well liked and an able leader, Miss Benjamin has contributed much to the success of these organizations. BOARD OF ATHLETIC CONTROL This board is the controlling factor of all school athletics. Deciding the standards of eligibility, tentative schedules, and awarding of letters to sport participants are some of the duties of the Board of Athletic Control. Students who serve on this board are elected by their fellow members and possess a keen interest in school sports.
