.GW STATE ELIMINATION TEAM This year the State Elimination Team was composed of joan Wilson and George Milroy, with Dan Jolliff acting as alternate. The team won the Quarter- Final Debate from Alpena at the Alpena High School. Then they went on to cap- ture the Semi-Final debate from the Ann Arbor High team. However, the Flint Central team took the Final glory by de- feating our team in the Hnals which were held at Ann Arbor. 4 1 VARSITY DEBATE TEAM Another wall plaque was added to our numerous col- lection, by Winning six out of eight debates. Also this group placed second in the Five-A, by winning Eve out of eight debates. In placing in the state elimination tournaments we were the only school to accomplish this feat six years in a row. l Page One Hundred Seven DEBATE SQUAD The debate squad as a whole holds practice de- bates. Also they study the fundamentals of effective speech and what makes for a winning talk. Finally from this group come the Varsity Debate team and the State Elimination team. The de- bate activities are under the capable direction of Mr, Harris, who has proved his skill in piloting the team into the State Elimination Tournaments for six con- secutive years.
