Basketball season hi hlighted b Hirst Kam B. Peters, F. Winters, J. King, G. Young. Sccand Kam Manager, T. Graybill, P. Able, R. Townsley S. Fauth, R. Snyder, Manager, J. Reese. Basketball has long been the most popular sport at Eastern. This season the Golden Knights start with three returning letter winners, seniors: Rick Townsley and Fred Winters and junior: Bob Snyder. Also on the team are seniors: Greg Young, Dave Conway, Dennis Conway, juniors: Barry Peters, .lack King and sopho- mores: Steve Fauth and Paul Abel. The team lacks height with its tallest member being Paul Abel 6'I . However, the boys make up for their size with their hustle and accurate shooting. In their first exhibition game the team posted a very impressive victory by beating Manheim Central 90 to 55. The game was a very tight one until Eastern scored 28 straight points. 74- ' Snyder scores again

' V's being locked in team room. Move that ball. The junior varsity team, coached by Mr. Scheetz, consists of four juniors and five sophomores. Two boys last year won JV letters and they were Bob Bowser and Steve Morton. The rest of the team is made up of juniors: Ike Heilman, Joel Abel and sophomores: Steve Townsley, Lonny Wilson, Barry Time out for a rest. Cunningham, Randy Young, Wayne Mittel, and Bob Cooper.
